Requirements: Master's degree in computer science, robotics, information and computer engineering, geoinformatics, geodesy or a related field; Knowledge in Machine Learning, Computer Vision and/or Photogrammetry; Experience in Remote Sensing is beneficial; Very good programming skills in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow; good skills in C++ are desired; Proven track record in vision, machine learning and/or remote sensing is considered advantageous; Ability and desire to collaborate and work in an interdisciplinary team; Strong communication, presentation and (academic) writing skills; Very good proficiency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous but not a requirement

Our Center for Vision, Automation & Control is seeking to hire new Ingenious Partners for our location in Vienna: Scientist (m/f/d) Machine Learning The Autonomous Systems Group works at the cutting edge of technologies for assistive & autonomous systems including environment perception, navigation, control and testing. This has an enourmous range of applications from construction, aviation and rail to agriculture, robotics and special purpose machinery. As part of our highly multidisciplinary team you investigate machine learning algorithms and implement advanced methods for camera, laser and radar sensor data analysis. You contribute your expertise in computer vision to exciting and challenging research projects and are willing to participate in the scientific dissemination process. You take into account latest research results and requirements of industrial partners. Your results will be applied in emerging fields such as environmental/agriculture/forestry monitoring and disaster response as well as in aerial platforms and various kinds of automated machinery under real world environmental conditions. You will have the opportunity to visit and interact with research and industrial partners across Austria and beyond and develop concepts, specifications and procedures. Achievements will be integrated in demonstration systems, prototypes and marketable products depending on the technology readiness.
