Position: Research & Development specialist in Molecular and Functional Neurobiology Group (MFN)

Duties: MFN group utilizes stem cells for modelling of neurodegenerative disease. Projects in the lab are at the interface of systems biology and bio-medical research. In particular, we aim on gaining new insights in the complex processes that regulate neuro-degenerative processes Your tasks/mission: Generation/maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cells and subsequent differentiation into neurons, microglia and astrocytes; Characterization of cell populations; Study of cellular metabolism; Assessment of mitochondrial function; Evaluation of the immune system activation
Requirements: MSc in the field of life sciences (It will be desirable a Master in Neurosciences or molecular biology); Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and cellular models of neurodegeneration; Experience in cell culture (desirable expertise with inducible pluripotent stem cell models); Skilled in molecular biology, immunology and functional and imaging techniques; Excellent communication, team-working and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently; Enthusiasm and great commitment to research; Very good command of the English language
