Duties: The UCL Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) is a multidisciplinary department with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research; We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Associate Professor in Marine Geospatial Science who will have responsibility for developing and leading cutting-edge research, developing relationships with industry for grant applications and industrial proposals, and designing, teaching and assessing courses and modules in CEGE, contributing to the transformation of knowledge into practice and learning
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a PhD in Geomatics or related area, knowledge and experience and research interest in subjects intersecting marine and geospatial sciences, and sufficient marine expertise to provide teaching in at least some of: acoustic positioning and acquisition systems (MBES, ADCP, Sidescan and other marine geophysical surveying systems), tidal analysis, oceanology, bathymetric or vessel-based LIDAR, data processing and positioning in the marine environment; The potential to carry out research in this area, and an excellent publication record, are also essential. Relevant teaching experience and qualifications, and the ability to develop and maintain links with colleagues in industry, public agencies and research institutes, would be an advantage
