Requirements: The candidate must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in areas such as Biotechnology, Life sciences or other relevant to this position, and 3+ years of postdoctoral experience; Proven ability to work in the following interdisciplinary areas: biomass fractionation (pretreatment and hydrolysis), fermentation, process optimization, cell factory engineering (especially using adaptive laboratory evolution) and downstream processing; Relevant experience in the execution of research projects; Experience with the supervision and guidance of PhD, MSc and BSc students; Strong writing and communication skills

Apply online We are looking for a Researcher with experience in the areas of Biomass Conversion and Biobased Technologies, to start the activities from the 1 st of January 2021. The candidate will work in an ambitious interdisciplinary project with the aim of developing biobased solutions to promote sustainability. The position will be placed in the Biomass Conversion and Bioprocess Technology (BCBT) group headed by Dr. Solange I. Mussatto, which is based in the Section of Synthetic Biology at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering) at the Technical University of Denmark. The BCBT group works on the development of new, efficient and sustainable process technologies able to accelerate the development of a bioeconomy. With this position, we want to expand our research in biomass conversion and fermentation to promote a green transition and support the UN Sustainable Development goals. The researcher position is part of DTU’s Tenure Track program. After a maximum of 6 years you will be evaluated by an external assessment committee, and if evaluated positively, you will acquire a permanent senior researcher position.
