Position: Divisional Manager (Deputy Faculty Director of Operations)

Duties: The successful appointee will work closely and effectively with the Divisional Director and the Divisions senior leadership team. Maintaining effective business as usual activities to a high standard, responding to developments in the local and external environment to enhance service delivery using innovative approaches as appropriate. In addition the DM will continue initiatives that enhance administrative operations; and (with the Head of the local Finance Team) lead on all aspects of the Divisions financial activities. As a senior manager you will be expected to provide outstanding leadership and management, collaborating and working with colleagues positively. The post holder will also be expected to deputise for the Director of Operations as required and undertake additional Faculty level projects as need dictates
Requirements: The successful candidate will have excellent planning and finance skills gained from effective budgetary management in a complex environment; a proven track of effective line management and development of staff; experience of leading change; and an absolute commitment to ensuring excellence in all areas of professional services activity; The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills as well as evidence successful management to ensure both they and their teams effectively complete tasks and projects to deadline; A commitment to service delivery, enabling and adding value to the research, education and other activities that are core to the Division and Faculty is a must; The DM will have exceptional organisational, financial, planning and (ideally) project management skills and be an excellent communicator. The DM will also have successful experience in managing staff performance, developing the culture required in the professional services environment by training and development as well as coaching and motivating staff; A commitment to achieve positive change in a timely manner, work under pressure to deadlines and the ability to manage a large and varied workload are essential along with a resourceful approach. Applicants should be highly motivated, proactive and flexible, and use their initiative to pre-empt problems and offer solutions working collaboratively
