Duties: UCL Innovation & Enterprise are a group of specialist teams working with students and staff to encourage a spirit of enterprise, create links with the outside world and accelerate UCLs innovation and impact. UCL Innovation & Enterprise's work is at the heart of UCLs ambition to change the world for the better and plays a vital part in our shared mission to tackle the great global challenges of our time; The Global Innovation Programmes delivered by UCL Innovation & Enterprise cover a key element of UCLs strategy in developing partnerships and engaging with high-growth SMEs who are likely to be innovating and using new technology, to grow and internationalise. These programmes gained even more importance during this time of crisis, where the team is working closely with Innovate UK to drive the innovation policy agenda forward, and support socio-economic drivers of the UK economy; The Innovation Advisor will play a key role in advising high-growth SMEs, spinouts and start-ups on how to grow their business, commercialise their technology, and find international partners. In particular, the jobholder will play a major role in scoping innovative SMEs, commercialising their R&D, accessing funding and finance opportunities, and supporting them in accessing new markets; The role is initially funded until March 2022
Requirements: The jobholder will be of exceptional high calibre, with experience of supporting and advising SMEs at various stages of the business life cycle, and experience working in or with emerging technologies across sectors (HVM, Energy, Digital, Materials, Engineering, Healthcare etc.)
