Position: Postdoc Research Group Kaloshin

Duties: The group of Vadim Kaloshin is looking for outstanding postdoctoral candidates interested in working on problems in mathematical physics and Hamiltonian dynamics. Current research topics in the Kaloshin group include various questions related to spectral rigidity for convex planar domains. Many of these questions are motivated by the famous question popularized by M. Kac “Can you hear the shape of a drum?’’ and closely related to properties of the billiard inside of the aforementioned domain
Requirements: PhD in mathematics or mathematical physics; Teaching experience of advantage (Postdocs will teach one semester course per year); Committed to research excellence with a demonstrated relevant publication track record in leading scientific journals; A proven ability to conduct independent research, as well as to work effectively as a member of a research team; Enthusiasm about mentoring graduate students; Excellent command of English (working language)

In a different direction, the group investigated the dynamics of asteroids in Kirkwood gaps of the asteroid belt governed by Newton‘s laws.
