Qualifications In order to qualify for a place on the programme you will need to meet the following requirements: You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State Your main field of study is in applied physics, computing, mathematics and robotics, electricity, electronics, mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, material and surface science. You have completed at least 18 months of your undergraduate studies (Bachelor or Master’s) at the time of the next student selection-taking place in December 2020. Please note that PhD students are not eligible for this programme. You can stay for at least 4 and at most 12 months remaining registered as a full-time student. You have a good knowledge of English OR French. Important information for you to know: The duration of the internship is between 4 to 12 months. You will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of of 3319 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax). If you meet the criteria, you might receive a travel allowance Depending on your personal circumstances, you might benefit from a supplement if you are married and/or have children. You will be covered by CERN’s comprehensive Health Insurance scheme (the contribution will be automatically deducted from your allowance). You will get 2,5 days of paid leave per month. You will need to have insurance for work and private accidents as well as any disability arising from professional and non-professional illness and accidents. Please note that your application may also be shared during the process with a panel of national experts for evaluation purposes. Ultimately, it will be reviewed by a panel of CERN experts who will meet in December 2020.
