Duties: A Research Fellow position is available in the Bianco Lab in which the postholder will use the paradigm of larval zebrafish hunting behaviour to investigate how animals make the decision to initiate specialised behaviour and how sequences of actions are flexibly assembled to accomplish behavioural goals. The successful applicant will contribute to this research effort by developing an innovative, independent research project in consultation with the PI. We especially encourage applicants with skills/interest in developing custom optical systems for 2-photon holographic optogenetics and researchers with experience in electrophysiology and/or calcium imaging
Requirements: PhD (or be studying towards it) in relevant subject area is essential as is proven knowledge of research techniques and methodologies and evidence of high quality research outputs, for instance publications or preprints (e.g. on biorXiv)

Please note: Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (Salary £31,479 - £33,194 per annum, including London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis (including corrections).
