Position: SQL Database Administrator

Duties: Manage all aspects of the physical database including schema's, users, security, etc. in development, UAT and production environments for internally developed and 3rd party databases; Perform database software installs, configurations, patches, upgrades, and migrations; Identify and resolve problems occurring in all database environments including performance related issues (i. e. database & SQL tuning); Support DBA utilities, reorgs, index builds, export/import and DBA tools; Ensuring that all databases are being backed up and that recovery procedures are functioning to meet recovery point objectives and recovery time objectives; Writing database documentation, standards, and procedures; educating database users on how to efficiently query the database system; Operationalizing and enforcing standards for the processes and procedures for production code releases
Requirements: 3+ years’ DBA experience with SQL Server; Enterprise-level database operations experience; Excellent communication skills; Experience with SQL Server HA and DR technologies (log shipping, failover cluster instances, availability groups); Experience with performance tuning, including third-party databases, where code changes are not possible; Experience writing automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell

SQL Server Database Administrator US Administrative Solutions Norwood, MA Full Time The SQL Server database administrator is a highly skilled technical position that involves intricate knowledge of SQL Server database internal with Versions 2012 & 2014. He/She provides database installations, configuration, tuning, maintenance, patching, backup and recovery, problem diagnosis and resolution are all critical functions that the database administrator performs. This is also a collaborative position which has you working closely with IT project managers, developers, and the Systems Engineering teams, communicating regularly with application and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security, and quality. The position may require on call responsibilities.
