Position: Corporate Reserving Actuary
Institution: Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited
Location: New York City, New York, United States
Duties: Reviewing the business plan loss ratios for each business unit as estimated by the pricing actuaries; Collaborate with pricing to integrate pricing data and perspectives into the reserving process and the profitability outlook; Support the reserving teams’ workflow to ensure that the reserving team is well positioned to support the needs of each business unit; Work with other actuarial teams to coordinate the application of Aspen’s ceded and intercompany reinsurance arrangements; Preparation, with assistance from the reserving teams, for the AFH reports; Seek opportunities to improve processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency and share knowledge to benefit the broader organization
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline; A minimum of 15 years of experience in progressively senior actuarial roles with a leading insurer and or reinsurer. This individual may also have gained experience at an actuarial consulting firm; Expert knowledge of a wide range of non-life re/insurance products including traditional Property and Casualty lines of business as well as Specialty lines like Agriculture, Surety, and Mortgage; Excellent communication skills. This individual must have the ability to articulate actuarial concepts to regulators and non-actuarial audiences; Superior interpersonal skills; Experience working in matrix organizations an asset
