Position: Data Science - Combinatorics Research (Experienced)

Duties: Plan, conduct and execute work with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of researchers within and outside of our department; Work/develop algorithms and software in R, Python, Java, C and C++ or related languages; Collaborate side-by-side with cyber security professionals to perform innovative and relevant research; Work both to advance methods (theoretical) and use real data (applications); Design, plan, and execute research; design and develop projects in teams; Publish and present outstanding new developments in peer-reviewed journals and at conferences; Develop open-source software
Requirements: Master's Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or relevant discipline plus 1 or more years of experience; or PhD in any of the above fields or relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant educated and experience; Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: graph analytics, combinatorics problems, statistical inference, software analysis, or; predictive modeling; Publication record indicative of relevant research expertise; Software development experience in Python, Java, C and C++ or related languages; Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q and SCI clearance

The department is especially focused on matrix and tensor methods, adversary-aware analytics, at-scale streaming and sampling methods, graph and network analysis, and game theory. The department generates publications in leading technical journals and conferences as well as software that is freely available to the research community. These techniques are largely focused on real-world data with a particular focus on cyber applications.
