Position: Postdoctoral fellow (Research Associate) in the field of clinical and translational medicine informatics

Duties: Epidemiological and clinical data curation, harmonization, integration and analysis; Build clinical glossary from electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs); Deployment and maintenance of data and computing platform; Play active role in the development of content and data interfaces of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) map (see: https://pdmap.uni.lu/minerva/as an example); Work closely with other team members on the design and implementation of statistical, ML/AI analysis workflows and visualization tools
Requirements: A PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or related fields, with an interest in biomedical informatics and translational medicine; Working knowledge of modern programming languages (Python, R, Java), Linux and database engines; Good knowledge of statistical methods, ML/AI analysis of clinical data and its interpretation; Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate clearly the scientific and technical needs and to work within an interdisciplinary setting, communicating with other internal/external partners; Prior experience dealing with clinical, molecular (genomics, and proteomics) and neuroimaging data processing, integration, NoSQL, graph database technologies and knowledge of dementia research is considered an advantage

Employee status (start date: as soon as possible) Ref. : R-AGR-3686-10-C The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Luxembourg. LCSB develops and applies systems-level approaches to gain insight into the molecular and cellular mechanisms of human diseases. Experimental and computational approaches are combined to analyse the complexity of biological systems underlying disease pathogenesis. The LCSB is pioneering the way for a predictive, preventive and personalised medicine. We are looking for an experienced postdoc for FNR (Luxembourg National Research Fund) funded project ‘PREADAPT’ ( https://tinyurl.com/y4g684km ) to work within a team developing state-of-the-art information technology solutions to integrate and analyze epidemiological and clinical follow-up cohorts to identify age-related profiles of the personalized future risk to decline cognitively and to progress to dementia and response to specific intervention depending on the profile of an individual.
