Position: Research Technician (Isogai Lab)

Duties: The Isogai lab at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre aims to delineate the molecular and genetic framework of innate behaviours. The lab uses a combination of diverse approaches, including biochemical and molecular, genetic, cellular, imaging, and physiological methods in order to attain a detailed understanding of causal links between genes, molecules, circuits and behaviour. The lab is now looking for an outstanding Research Technician to join a project on analysing large scale molecular, imaging, physiology, and behavioural datasets collected in the lab
Requirements: You will hold an undergraduate degree and/or masters degree in Biomedical Science or Applied Mathematics Statistics/Physics/Engineering; You will have an interest in the Isogai lab, and in working collaboratively with colleagues at SWC and the Gatsby Unit. Prior experience of working within a research laboratory is essential as well as experience of statistical analyses of rodent behaviours and gene expression data; Training in statistics, data analysis and applied mathematics are also required as well as proficiency in several commonly used computer language such as R, Java, Python and MatLab

The lab uses a combination of diverse approaches, including biochemical and molecular, genetic, cellular, imaging, and physiological methods in order to attain a detailed understanding of causal links between genes, molecules, circuits and behaviour. The lab is now looking for an outstanding Research Technician to join a project on analysing large scale molecular, imaging, physiology, and behavioural datasets collected in the lab. While at the Isogai lab you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the project, and will embrace the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the SWC and Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit. This post is funded for one year in the first instance with the possibility of extension subject to successful grant renewal.
