Position: Events coordinator at the School of Business and Economics

Duties: The Events Team is responsible for the development, successful execution and evaluation of events that contribute to the UM and faculty Marketing & Communications strategic goals and targets. Examples are the Bachelor and Master Open Day or graduation ceremonies. Most activities are related to the areas of student recruitment and student life. Within the department there are two event coordinators reporting to the faculty head of M&C. As the fall is the busiest season the team welcomes an experienced events coordinator for support. Some of the tasks are: Planning and management of the execution of events on behalf of the faculty (e.g., registration, timing/programme, managing external suppliers, coordinating event personnel); Co-development of communication plans for promoting those events; Evaluation of the events and proposals for improvement
Requirements: A minimum education level of HBO in a relevant field, for example in hotel management; At least two years’ experience in the field of event coordination; Planning and organising skills and experience with online tools; Stress-resistant and a hands on approach; Flexibility; several events are in the weekend or in the evening; Inventiveness and an eye for detail; Commitment to the client; Fluent in English and Dutch, both in writing and speaking

The terms of employment of Maastricht University are set out in the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CAO). Furthermore, local UM provisions also apply. The gross monthly salary in this 0.6 fte appointment will depend on education and relevant working experience, based on salary scale 8 of the CAO.
