Position: Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Quantum Cryptography Software Development

Duties: You will transform research results from quantum cryptography into products; Together with your colleagues you will develop new network solutions and refine existing software in C/C++ and Python on Linux server machines and/or embedded devices; You will interact and communicate with partners in national and international research projects and develop. concepts, specifications, and procedures to achieve defined project goals
Requirements: Degree (BSc/MSc) in computer science (FH/University), preferably in the area of software engineering or equivalent higher technical education (HTL) with experience; Experience in professional software engineering in C/C++; Knowledge of Python and Linux; Knowledge in cyber security and/or network engineering. SDN, Rust, docker, DevOps, CI/CD is a plus; Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for creating sustainable technical solutions and implementing them in practice; High commitment and ability to work in multidisciplinary and diverse teams; Affinity to abstract, mathematical thinking and physics; Proficient English (written and spoken); good German (written and spoken) is a plus

Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Quantum Cryptography Software Development Security & Communication Technologies You are part of our internationally renowned team that has been leading large European research projects in the field of quantum cryptography since 2004. You work in a vibrant and agile team and create high quality software for devices that operate on satellites or in data centers. You will transform research results from quantum cryptography into products. Together with your colleagues you will develop new network solutions and refine existing software in C/C++ and Python on Linux server machines and/or embedded devices. You will interact and communicate with partners in national and international research projects and develop. concepts, specifications, and procedures to achieve defined project goals. Your contributions play an important role in our success in ongoing and future research and contracted research projects. The software you co-develop will be used in pilot projects for secure communications in infrastructures of European technology leaders.
