Moreover, strong qualifications in computational research methods applied to the analysis and design of digital platforms and interactive technologies or relevant experience in data-aware design are important for this position. To be considered, candidates should be able to demonstrate research and teaching qualifications in two or more of the following areas: Computational methods applied to the understanding of digital platforms and users’ practices Data visualization and visual data exploration Digital social sciences applied to online platforms Data-aware design and data analytics applied to the design of digital technologies At the Digital Design Department, we have a broad understanding of digital technologies and digital platforms. In the context of this position, we seek candidates who have strong interest and experience in working with an interdisciplinary approach. We seek candidates who use digital technologies and computational methods to investigate online societal and human dynamics. A good candidate is someone who is interested in people and their interplay with digital technologies but also motivated to describe the impacts and consequences digitalization may have on society at large. She/he is also interested in the intersection of data and design and in strengthening the computational research carried out within the Digital Platforms and Data research group. Applicants should provide a research plan explaining the research they wish to pursue in the position as assistant / associate professor. Applicants should also be able to carry out research-based teaching and supervision in a variety of subjects related to computational methods, quantitative research methods, data-aware design and data analysis on both bachelor and master level. The ideal candidate should document: Publications of research at a high international level in well-respected peer-reviewed venues Competences in developing and conducting teaching that is well received by students A record of contributing to the goals of institutions in which he/she has worked, for instance participation in committees or boards. In addition, candidates for the position as associate professor should be able to: Supervise PhD students Attract external research funding Read/speak a Scandinavian language (or have the willingness to learn Danish) General information The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. The IT University has more than 70 full-time academics. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialization of IT. The associate professorship is a permanent position. The position requires academic qualifications at PhD level. The assistant professorship is a temporary position for up to 4 years with the possibility of extension. The position requires academic qualifications at PhD level. Salary Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
