Position: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Stellar Cluster Evolution
Liverpool John Moores University
, Liverpool , Merseyside United Kingdom
Duties: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in Galactic Astronomy, to work with Dr. Sebastian Kamann in the Stellar Clusters group at the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University. You will work in the UKRI-funded project "Stellar Clusters as the Nurseries of Black Holes". The aim of the project is to constrain the contribution of star clusters to the cosmic mass spectrum of black holes, using a combination of state-of-the-art observational data and advanced dynamical models. In particular, you will be able to work on all data obtained in the MUSE stellar clusters GTO programmes. Possible project tasks include the post-processing of these data or the generation of dedicated cluster models (such as analytical, orbit- or particle-based models) as well as data-model comparisons
Requirements: You should have a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics or a closely related field by the starting date
