Position: Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Urban Climate Modelling and Assessment

Duties: You closely work with our team of urban planners, data scientists, environmental experts as well as water and energy specialists developing urban climate strategies using different climate models; You test, validate, optimize and apply our regional, urban and microclimate models; You contribute to design and acquire national/European research and client projects; You work on assessments of climate change impacts and risks
Requirements: MSc or equivalent in relevant disciplines (Meteorology, built environment studies with climate specialization); At least 3 years’ experience with urban climate strategies and resilience assessment at the urban and regional level; Experience with regional, urban, and microclimate simulation models and ability to work with computational methods (Grasshopper); Skills to apply downscaling techniques to generate future climate change scenarios and familiarity with explorative statistics; Strong graphical skill to express complex spatial analysis and related strategic or design response; Very good communication and presentation skills in German and in English

Our Center for Energy is seeking to hire new Ingenious Partners for our location in Vienna: Research Engineer (m/f/d) for Urban Climate Modelling and Assessment Digital Resilient Cities You will be part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on the development of new approaches and solutions for climate-responsive cities around the world. You develop urban climate concepts for cities and formulate climate-sensitive design response for construction projects. With your passion you develop consulting projects on urban climate resilience and adaptation at all scales. You closely work with our team of urban planners, data scientists, environmental experts as well as water and energy specialists developing urban climate strategies using different climate models. You test, validate, optimize and apply our regional, urban and microclimate models. You contribute to design and acquire national/European research and client projects. You work on assessments of climate change impacts and risks. You contribute to bring AITs climate simulation activities to the next level. Your expertise has a high impact delivering climate change consultancy to decision-makers in the private and public sector. You shape new tasks for climate consultancy and continuously enhance our tool-based workflow. You engage and reach out to prospects creating new client relationships and projects. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
