Duties: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the MetaLab at University College London. The project will combine state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, MEG) with theoretical and computational modeling to investigate the neural mechanisms underpinning self-awareness and metacognition; The post holder will undertake high quality research combining human neuroimaging (and psychophysics with advanced analysis techniques involving machine learning; The project will involve developing and testing computational models at the interface of social cognition and metacognition and evaluating these against behavioural and/or neural data; Key responsibilities will be to recruit and assess study participants, coordinate study logistics, and to collect and analyse neuroimaging data for publications and presentation at international conferences and internal meetings; Further information about the MetaLab is available at http://metacoglab.org/
Requirements: Applicants must hold a PhD, or have submitted their thesis, in a relevant discpline (e.g., computational/cognitive neuroscience, cognitive science or experimental psychology). We are seeking applicants with excellent knowledge of neuroimaging analysis methods, proficiency with applying machine learning approaches (classification and decoding methods) to neuroimaging data analysis, and expertise in developing and fitting computational models of behaviour. The candidate is expected to be able to work independently and as part of a team, have experience presenting talks at conferences and symposiums, and have publications in high quality peer reviewed journals
