Position: AI Development Regional Team Leader

Duties: lead our US AI/Machine Learning and rules-based model development team, reporting directly into the Global Head of Methodologies & Models AI development and platform; focus initially on rule based transaction monitoring model portfolio and on structuring the short- and mid-term model remediation work on existing vendor platforms, with an eye on building longer term AI based challenger and replacement models and broadening our US model development pipeline beyond financial crime prevention; interacting with local management and facing-off with relevant regulators on our remediation and build-out plans
Requirements: Masters or PhD in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics or quantitative finance; ideally 8+ years of experience in the operational risk & compliance domain and in the transaction monitoring space across all relevant business lines (wealth & asset management, private & investment banking, correspondent banking); ideally 3 + years of development, deployment or model validation experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning based transaction monitoring solutions, preferably in the public domain context; deep functional and technical expertise around the Actimize product suite, i.e. alert engine and case manager, covering the entire value chain and engineering cycle from business and regulatory requirements analysis, data specification, -sourcing and -mapping, platform & data base configuration, model/rule development, calibration and testing through to model validation and production deployment and -maintenance; very solid experience in navigating within a complex, global tier-1 financial services organization, in particular in successfully collaborating with internal stakeholders like Group IT and model governance, and external stakeholders like regulatory authorities in the US, APAC and Europe; outstanding communication and presentation skills across different hierarchical levels of the organization and stakeholder groups; strong track record in successful and participatory leadership of highly diverse and globally distributed teams of 30+ professionals; ideally, some additional experience in system configuration or deployment experience with Siron, TQMM and Fortent platforms, in the area of data strategy and data architecture development and execution, and in cryptographic protocols

Your team Methodologies and Models within Group Compliance, Regulatory and Governance is a newly established global unit which develops state of the art AI/Machine Learning based solutions, covering the entire non-financial risk control and compliance space. Our mandate is to design and build the next-generation methodology set and AI development pipeline & tooling in and end-to-end responsibility.
