Position: Research & Development specialist

Duties: Main responsibilities, under the direction of one or more Department Professors: Assist legal research projects; Undertake independent research in, and analysis of, legal literature regarding the current state of the art and/or new developments within relevant research fields, exchange information relative thereto with internal and external constituencies, including members of the Department of Law, colleagues, and peers; Document legal research projects, activities, and results; Supervise document maintenance and updates; Collect, interpret, and analyse legal research-related data and results, and offer advice with respect thereto, either on request or at own initiative; Gain expertise in specific legal research fields and/or projects; Search and analyse trends in legal data; Formulate, or contribute to the formulation of, legal hypotheses/advice/conclusions; Prepare and draft internal and external specialized reports and provide hypotheses/advice/conclusions; Contribute to, or prepare own, legal publications, including, papers, books, articles, blogs, and other research-related documents; Develop and perform empirical studies and legal practice-related research; Ensure the collection, assessment, selection, availability, and transmission of long-term knowledge for Department Professors (e.g., update internal-knowledge and available-resource databases)
Requirements: Master qualification with specialization in law (all areas of public and private, national and European will be considered); Legal research experience; Excellent analytical and conceptual skills with proven ability to adapt to new situations and develop creative solutions; Very good oral and written competence in both English and French, an understanding of Luxembourgish or German is welcome; Ability to work as an integral part of a team in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment
