Duties: The Physics Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers from our local geographic area. Positions available as determined by need during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2020-21 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base. PREFERRED PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral degree in Physics, Geology or a related field. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Physics Department has approximately 45 faculty, whose primary function is teaching undergraduate physics courses to students in technical disciplines. We offer programs of study leading to Bachelor Degrees in Physics, with approximately 200 majors currently enrolled. We also offer courses in astronomy, geology, geophysics, and oceanography.
