Position: Assistant professor

Duties: The person in this position will teach a 4/4 load of geography courses, which will include online sections of World Regional Geography and other general education courses that will support online undergraduate programs at Emporia State University. The other courses will be upper-level, either online or in-person, in the candidate’s areas of expertise, which should complement the current strengths of the department. Office hours and in-person courses are part of this position; therefore, the candidate will need to be available on campus
Requirements: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. (or the equivalent) in geography; all sub-disciplines are open. All candidates must show evidence of excellence in teaching online and face-to-face courses, and willingness to explore using open education resources. Tenure-track faculty members are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and are evaluated on their research/scholarly/creative activity, teaching, and service. Service in the areas of academic advising, recruitment and retention of students, and committee service is expected
