The postdoctoral fellow will join Dr. Marina Vannucci’s research group. The research is part of an ongoing collaborative effort with Read Montague’s lab at Virginia Tech:https://research.vtc.vt.edu/people/read-montague/. The Montague Lab works on computational models of neuromodulation alongside electrophysiological, electrochemical, and electromagnetic (optically pumped magnetometry) data derived from the conscious human brain. The project aims at the development of novel statistical models for the analysis of such data. Dr. Vannucci’ research is focused on the development of Bayesian statistical models for complex problems, with particular emphasis on problems from neuroimaging, neuroscience, engineering and large-scale genomics. The Montague lab conducts leading-edge research on the dynamics of neurotransmitter delivery and action in the human brain and the connection of these dynamics to reinforcement learning models. This position is an excellent opportunity for a statistically-oriented person to conduct research in Neuroscience and expand the biological problems to which their training can be applied.
