Position: Adjunct Instructor

Duties: Teaches one or more courses within the Instructional Program (no more than 7.5 credits per semester); Prepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum; Develops and submits current syllabus, using the college template; Prepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance; Evaluates student performance and submits grades to the registrar; Maintain office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online); Participates in professional development as necessary to be proficient in the college’s current technologies and learning platform; Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances
Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the area of instruction or related field; Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in the subject area; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment; Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel or PowerPoint; Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development. Demonstrated experience with distance delivery. Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational work experience; North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions. Ability to interpret and represent NSB community values, customs, and beliefs for the College. Ability to interpret and represent College actions and Western institutions to the NSB community.
