Areas of teaching and research include one or more of the following: K-12 ELL education, second language acquisition and pedagogy, bilingual education, applied linguistics, and educational linguistics. This position includes teaching courses in second language teaching methodology, TESOL methods (including a practicum for students seeking K-12 ELL licensure), and core applied linguistics courses; working extensively with pre-service teachers; and collaborating with local schools. Preferred duties include some teaching in our French or Spanish programs. Education Requirements:Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in TESOL, ELL, Bilingual Education, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics or a related field required by time of appointment.Required Qualifications:Required qualification include significant U.S. or Canadian K-12 teaching experience with English language learners or in bilingual education; knowledge of current K-12 TESOL/ELL pedagogies; active research agenda in TESOL, ELL, bilingual education, applied linguistics, or related areas; and Native/Near-native proficiency in English.
