Duties: The UCL Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) is a multidisciplinary department with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research. The UCL Institute of Finance and Technology (IFT) currently sits within CEGE and has been developed in response to a fast changing world of finance and technology to apply original and creative thinking to developing and teaching new courses. IFT brings the latest thinking from academia and business together where professionals of the present and future can experiment, exchange ideas and develop the skills and mindset to evolve and succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing world; The IFT Centre Manager will be responsible for managing the teaching, research, administration and other activities of the Institute and will develop and manage Institute-wide resources to ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose. The postholder will be responsible, together with the IFT Director, in developing strategies to facilitate the independence of IFT as a unit within the Faculty by ensuring the IFT meets financial, teaching and research targets
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a proven track record in administration and management within a HEI (or equivalent) in a complex environment, substantial financial skills (financial management systems, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis), and experience in co-ordinating and leading teaching and learning support within an HEI (or equivalent). A record of successful line management and development of staff, with proven team leadership and motivational skills, is also essential. A postgraduate management degree, or professional training or equivalent knowledge through experience, and experience of co-ordinating multi-site teaching activities, would be an advantage
