Position: Reserving Actuary

Duties: An awesome opportunity for a Reserving Actuary to deliver international activities across Europe, using centralised tools and process. You will deliver the 1st line reserves for IFRS reporting and accounts, including formatting and validation of claims and premium data; perform calculation of ancillary reserves, including unearned premium reserves (UPR), unexpired risk reserve (URR) and ULAE. You will be involved in the calibration of the statistical claim reserving model, calibration of reserve margins and measurement of reserve adequacy

You will deliver the 1st line reserves for IFRS reporting and accounts, including formatting and validation of claims and premium data; perform calculation of ancillary reserves, including unearned premium reserves (UPR), unexpired risk reserve (URR) and ULAE. You will be involved in the calibration of the statistical claim reserving model, calibration of reserve margins and measurement of reserve adequacy.Not only you are super-smart, but you can hold your own when discussing business trends with other areas of the business such as Commercial and Finance teams. We would like you to pre-close year-end reserve projections, and develop new metrics of reserve volatility such as stochastic reserve models. Your experience will help you to support production of reports for regulators, internal management and client profitability. And lastly, you will support the team on any ad-hoc reserving projects, as necessary for the centralised Reserving team. In addition to this you will also support the risk management team in: Experience analysis Analysis of reinsurance arrangements Providing support for the implementation of IFRS 17 Solvency and risk-appetite assessments Validation of pricing assumptions This role is offering a salary of £63k Qualifications About you…You’re someone who is passionate about VBA, statistics and numbers. It would great if you have a few years’ of actuarial work experience in a company or a consultancy environment. The team in Chiswick is fun and loves to talk about mathematical and statistical modelling tools and models, so make sure you have some juicy data nuggets up your sleeve!We love to work in a collaborative manner, so it’s important that you can work on your own, but also as part of a team.
