Position: Doctoral researcher (PhD student) in space and telecommunication law

Duties: The doctoral researcher will be working within the Department of Law of the FDEF, the SES Chair in Space, SatCom and Media Law. She/he is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of the legal framework of satellite communication. Particular interest in ITU frequency management and space law would be an asset; The doctoral researcher will support the SES Chair in Space, SatCom and Media Law in its research, organizational and administrative tasks; At the same time, the doctoral researcher will prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of the legal framework of satellite communication under the supervision of Professor Mahulena Hofmann, SES Chair in Space, SatCom and Media Law. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg; The doctoral researcher can be asked to contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials
Requirements: Master’s degree in Law, preferably in international law or space/telecommunication law; Linguistic skills to work in the multilingual environment of Luxembourg: fluency in English and a good proficiency in French are required; a knowledge of a third language will be considered an advantage
