Duties: Working independently to enhance a database-driven measurement and administration software program used to manage customer orders, devices and measurement results; Working autonomously to create database interfaces for existing measurement software; Developing software and source code documentation; Performing administrative tasks using the central calibration and aministration software; Supporting new users in integrating applications into the existing measurement and administration software; Supporting our team in order to solve complex IT problems in a scientific environment
Requirements: You have successfully completed studies and obtained a Bachelor's degree or a degree from a university of applied sciences (German Fachhochschule ) in computer sciences, business informatics, mathematics, communications engineering or engineering sciences with a focus on information technology You have knowledge and experience in system administration with Windows-server-based operating systems You have knowledge and experience in setting up and administering relational database management systems You have excellent object-oriented programming skills You have an excellent command of both spoken and written German and English You are a team player with excellent communication skills You have a service-oriented and committed working style Complex technical contexts are not a problem for you The following skills and experiences would be an advantage: Knowledge and experience with MS SQL servers Programming skills in Visual Basic Programming skills in LabVIEW Knowledge and experience with UML Knowledge of SOAP and web interfaces Project management Quality management

March 2020 The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the National Metrology Institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. It furthers progress and reliability in metrology for society, the economy and science. In Department 2.1, Direct Current and Low Frequency, of Division 2, we are looking for a computer scientist or an engineer to join us as soon as possible. This position is available on the basis of a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will be employed at our Braunschweig site. Depending on your personal qualifications, the remuneration may reach up to remuneration group 11 TVöD Bund.
