Duties: The post holder will be expected to plan and execute a range of rule-based and machine learning approaches to define disease phenotypes through complex electronic health records such as data available in the UK Biobank, CPRD, HES and CALIBER. Part of the research will involve the creation and evaluation of statistical techniques for discovering and validating sub-phenotypes of diseases. The post holder will also be leading the development of libraries and tools for automating the process of EHR phenotyping; we are committed to open source and all tools and algorithms will be made available as open source
Requirements: This post will suit an experienced data scientist with extensive knowledge in the Python stack, manipulating and analysing large multi-dimensional datasets and relational databases including SQL
   
Text: Research Fellow in Health Data Science, - Ref:1853413 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division Institute of Health Informatics Location of position London Grade 7 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) £35,965 - £43,470 per annum Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will be expected to plan and execute a range of rule-based and machine learning approaches to define disease phenotypes through complex electronic health records such as data available in the UK Biobank, CPRD, HES and CALIBER. Part of the research will involve the creation and evaluation of statistical techniques for discovering and validating sub-phenotypes of diseases. The post holder will also be leading the development of libraries and tools for automating the process of EHR phenotyping we are committed to open source and all tools and algorithms will be made available as open source. The post holder will be expected to author a number of high-impact peer reviewed research publications in clinical journals with an opportunity also to publish in relevant machine learning and computer science journals and conferences. The purpose of this role is to contribute to research of the Institute and HDR-UK through the development and application of novel analytical techniques. This post is funded by HDR UK award for London Site, and will work with HDR UK community nationally. This post will be for 2 years in the first instance.
