The research field of the position includes development of load-flow/dynamic systems models using power systems simulation tools, analysis of aforementioned systems and verification of the results in realistic environment. Responsibilities and tasks The Research Assistant will carry out research on low- and zero-inertia systems, analyse the dynamic interactions between elements and develop control structures to ensure the stable operation of the systems. It is envisioned that the developed control approaches will be applied to large-scale test system to assess the quality of proposed methods. Qualifications Candidates should hold a two-year MSc (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year MSc. Assessment A successful candidate will have a very solid background in at least five of the following points: Knowledge of power systems time- and frequency-domain analysis Linear and Non-linear Optimization Experience with modeling and simulation of power systems in at least one of the following tools: DigSilent PowerFactory, RTDS, Matlab/Simulink Programming tools such as Matlab, Python, etc. Excellent use of the English language Ability to present results in technical reports, and prepare scientific papers for publication in international journals An ideal candidate will also be self-motivated, would enjoy working with complex topics, and would thrive in a collaborative and teamwork environment.
