Position: HEAD of SnT Finnovation Competence Hub

Duties: As Head of the SnT Finnovation Competence Hub, you will report to the Director of the Centre. Your mission will be to drive the development of the Finnovation Hub supporting innovative and disruptive financial services in Luxembourg in close collaboration with Faculty members and researchers at SnT. More specifically, the role will include: Support actors from the financial industry (and beyond) in their digital transformation with access to state-of-the-art research and top-notch facilities to develop and reduce time-to-market for innovative services and business models; Attract Fintech companies and investment to Luxembourg; Bundle existing actors, resources and competences around unique facilities along the FS value chain; Strengthen Luxembourg’s position as leading financial hub and support the digitalization of the local economy; The hub aims at providing a controlled real-life environment with the ability to test innovative solutions through access to secure testbed infrastructure and platform services. This infrastructure will be an asset for the financial hub with access to real data, allowing data driven innovative financial services, risk management, forecasting etc
Requirements: PhD degree, preferably in Computer Science, Management Sciences, Economics, or Finance; Long working experience from Financial Institutes; Previous Management role in public or private organizations; Highly recognized expert in digital transformation of financial services with a comprehensive understanding of this sector in Luxembourg
   
Text: UOL03161 29-Feb-2020 Company Text Organization The University of Luxembourg seeks to hire a Head of the Finnovation Competence Hub at its Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). This is a new organizational unit, which strives to promote excellence in Financial Technology research and innovation, business development, thought leadership, education and training with the aim to strengthen Luxembourg’s position as international financial place. The hub is driven by the Government’s concept of “data economy” with the objective to establish Luxembourg as the most trusted data economy within the European Union by 2023. SnT carries out interdisciplinary research and innovations in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners. SnT is active in several international research projects funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Horizon 2020 program, the European Space Agency and the European Defense Agency. SnT has developed a broad and effective partnership program, currently made of 48 industrial and institutional partners located in Luxembourg and in Europe.
