Position: Postdoctoral researcher in philosophy (m/f)

Duties: Under the supervision of Professor Heidemann the postdoc works in the Department of the Humanities (Philosophy) on the editorial project of the new edition of the Critique of Pure Reason (first edition 1781, second edition 1787) within Kants Gesammelte Werke (ed. Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften). The postdoc researches and prepares the editorial notes, the editorial commentary and the systematic as well as historical material that is relevant for the academic publication of the new edition of the Critique of Pure Reason. This includes, among other, the researching of historical sources explicitly or implicitly referred to in the first Critique, the digital maintenance or development of the produced text and the academic exchange with coeditors of the edition. In that context the postdoc is expected to publish his or her own findings in the field of Kant’s theoretical philosophy and relevant areas of research
Requirements: PhD in Philosophy on Kant’s theoretical philosophy; proven competences in the history of philosophy, especially of modern philosophy; very good knowledge of German (spoken and written, native speaker level) as well as English and French; willingness to do editorial research on Kant’s first Critique
