Position: Senior Biostatistician

Duties: Statistical collaboration with clinical researchers in the context of observational studies (Swiss HIV Cohort Study), large registry data and pragmatic clinical trial; Participation in the protocol development, to define an appropriate study design and suitable statistical methodologies, calculating sample sizes and writing the statistical section; Data management and data preparation; Statistical modeling, analysis and reporting, contributing to publications in peer-reviewed journals; Providing statistical input in the development of funding applications for clinical research may be required
Requirements: PhD qualification in statistics/mathematics or related field; At least 2-3 years of experience related experience to collaborate with clinicians in the health care or medical research setting, with data handling and good analytical skills; Good database and statistical programming skills with proven experience with statistical software (e.g. R and/or Stata); Experience in epidemiological study designs and relevant advanced analytical techniques; Ability to efficiently manage projects in parallel, carefully and systematically, and to communicate statistical methods and results to non-statisticians; A proven ability to work effectively within a team to achieve timely and valued objectives; Excellent knowledge of English (German is not a prerequisite but of advantage)
   
Text: CEB is an associated institute of the University of Basel at the Department of Clinical Research, University Hospital Basel. CEB conducts research in a range of disciplines relevant to clinical epidemiology and comparative effectiveness research. Starting immediately or by agreement, the CEB offers a position as Senior Biostatistician 100% You will be involved in a dynamic team of clinical epidemiologists, and clinical researchers and should have good management and supervision skills to support the current team of biostatisticians.
