Position: Lecturer/Associate Professor in Data Science for Health

Duties: The Faculty of Population and Health Sciences (FPHS) and Faculty of Engineering Sciences (FES) at University College London have jointly created a new senior academic position to accelerate and extend research using data science techniques as applied to human health and disease. We invite applications for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Data Science for Health; You will build a portfolio of research combining detailed multi-omic, imaging, clinical investigation, health record and social and administrative data, all collected on national cohorts from birth to older age, to understand lifetime determinants and underlying mechanisms of health and disease. In addition, you will play a leading role in the new UCL BHF Research Accelerator in Data Science 5 year award, which is due to appoint four new posts in data science. You will be supported in this work by colleagues in computer science, cardiovascular medicine, statistics, health informatics and epidemiology
Requirements: We encourage applicants with a background in mathematics, bioinformatics, molecular genetics, computer science or systems biology, ideally with some experience of work in human health; Applicants should demonstrate evidence of ability to undertake and publish internationally excellent research. We encourage applicants who have a track record of interdisciplinary collaboration
