Duties: Student Residence Adviser (SRA) role is a voluntary position and the role holder will be allocated to and is expected to reside within one of the residences and a single room is offered free of charge for this purpose. Student Residence Advisers are expected to provide emergency, welfare and pastoral support outside of office hours (Monday to Friday 5.30pm to 8.30am, and throughout weekends, bank holidays and UCL closure periods) within a designated group of halls/student residences and to maintain good order, promote a good social atmosphere and proactively create a positive living environment
Requirements: Essential skills include experience of working as part of a team; the ability to seek advice from others when needed; good interpersonal and communication skills; an ability to show initiative and to take responsibility; an ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to duties and working hours. Desirable work or other experience includes previously providing welfare or pastoral support and acting in a position of authority or leadership ensuring the safety and security of others

In order to be offered a position as an SRA please confirm you agree with all the points on the attached "Mandatory Checklist" by signing it: 1. You agree to complete the compulsory online training prior to the training week. 2. You are available to attend the necessary compulsory training days in full: Three full days of training for continuing SRAs - Saturday (04/07/2020), Sunday (05/07/2020) and Friday (07/08/2020). Five full days of training for new SRAs From Monday (03/08/2020) to Friday (07/08/2020). 3. You will be available to complete a local site induction with the residence manager once allocated to a specific residence. 4. You are available for both move in weekends (19/09/2020 - 20/09/2020 and 26/09/2020 -27/09/2020) to meet and greet students. 5. During the interview, you will be able to provide details of booked annual leave or periods of leave you will need to take between 01/08/2020 31/07/2021. 6. You have carefully read and understood the main duties and responsibilities in the SRA Job Description and Person Specification. Interviews will take place from the 31/03/2020 to 03/04/2020. The positions are available from 01/08/2020 to 31/07/2021 A signed contract must be received.
