Duties: The post holder will join the group of Professor Anette Schrag in the department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences and collaborate with researchers in the Department of Statistical Science. The appointee will have skills relevant to handling and analysing large observational datasets and some knowledge of modelling approaches. The role provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to work on projects using data from a range of studies (cohort studies, clinical trials and primary care databases), to participate in the planning of new studies and to develop new research projects. The post holder will be able to work in partnership with researchers in collaborating departments within UCL and at other institutions nationally and internationally
Requirements: Applicants must hold an MSc and a PhD in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology or health informatics or equivalent, and have experience in using a range of statistical methods employed in medical research. Knowledge of key elements of study designs used in medical research and experience of data management, curation, and linkage methods for large datasets are essential. Good inter-personal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting and strong problem solving abilities are also required. Experience in analysis of primary care datasets, of publishing medical research and in prediction modelling is desirable

We are now looking for a researcher in medical statistics or epidemiology to work on projects in neurodegenerative conditions, including Parkinsons disease and dementia. The post holder will join the group of Professor Anette Schrag in the department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences and collaborate with researchers in the Department of Statistical Science. The appointee will have skills relevant to handling and analysing large observational datasets and some knowledge of modelling approaches. The role provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to work on projects using data from a range of studies (cohort studies, clinical trials and primary care databases), to participate in the planning of new studies and to develop new research projects. The post holder will be able to work in partnership with researchers in collaborating departments within UCL and at other institutions nationally and internationally. The post is available immediately and is funded by a grant for 18 months in the first instance. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £31,479- £33,194 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. If the PhD has not yet been granted, the final accepted version of the thesis must have been submitted to the degree-granting university by the start date in post.
