Position: Physician-Scientist in Neurology (m/f)

Duties: Clinical care within inpatient and outpatient care at the Neurology Department of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg; Recruitment of patients for the cohort study of the National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s disease (NCER-PD); Setup and optimisation of workflows for patient recruitment; Active participation in clinical studies for improved diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases; Coordination of scientific projects with national and international collaboration partners on research projects; Perform clinical testing and neurological examinations; Apply tests for assessing functions in different neurological disorders; Teach students on clinical and research aspects of neurodegenerative disorders; Present at public events for information of lay public or medical professionals ( parkinsonnet.lu ); Present research results on scientific meetings; Write scientific publications and grant applications
Requirements: Medical degree; Interest in clinical research and neurodegeneration; Independent, highly motivated and committed; Excellent organisational skills; Good interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively; Fluent spoken and written French and/or German, proficiency in English, and willingness to generally improve fluency in languages; Good computer skills for standard software (Excel, Word, etc.)
   
Text: UOL03118 29-Feb-2020 Company Text The National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson’s disease (NCER-PD) is an interdisciplinary program combining clinical, experimental, and computational approaches to Parkinson’s disease research. NCER-PD was set up in Luxembourg in 2015 with the support of the Fonds National de Recherche, and aims at improving the diagnosis and stratification of Parkinson’s disease to allow earlier diagnosis, preventative treatment, and personalized medicine. The Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) and the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg are among the partners of NCER-PD with the other biomedical research institutions in Luxembourg and collaborate with international partners and initiatives.
