Position: Research scientist in fundamental disciplines of History and text editing (Medieval/Modern History) (m/f)

Duties: He/she will be an expert in fundamental disciplines of History (“sciences auxiliaires”/“Grundwissenschaften”) and in digital text edition of medieval and modern documents. Under the supervision of a full professor, he/she will lead out projects of digital and interactive edition of documents related to Luxembourgish History and history of the Luxembourgish Dynasty. He/she will teach diplomatics, paleography, codicology and chronology, as well as the methodology of digital text edition in the Bachelor and Master programs. He/she will also teach classic and medieval latin at Bachelor level. In addition, he/she will contribute to public outreach activities (public history), cooperation with archives and museums and other cultural institutions in the field of cultural heritage, as well as with secondary schools
Requirements: Qualifications, experience, aptitude; PhD in History in relation with fundamental disciplines of History; Experience in text edition, if applicable in digital edition; Publication record, including single-authored books and/or articles in peer-reviewed journals in Medieval or Early Modern History; Proven ability of participating in research projects; Experience in teaching at University level; Languages The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. The person hired on this position must be proficient in English and in either French or German.
