Duties: The Department of Geography at UCL invites applications for the position of Lecturer/Associate Professor in Environment, Politics and Society. This is a new position which is being established as part of an expansion of research and teaching on the Anthropocene and Climate Change in the Department and across the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences more broadly. The Department encourages applications from those trained in relevant fields including Human Geography, Social Anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology and Politics
Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline and will be evaluated particularly on the originality, quality and significance of their research and its alignment with Departmental interests. They must also demonstrate an aptitude for teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a new position which is being established as part of an expansion of research and teaching on the Anthropocene and Climate Change in the Department and across the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences more broadly. The Department encourages applications from those trained in relevant fields including Human Geography, Social Anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology and Politics. We welcome applicants with research interests in topics such as environmental and geopolitics, environmental policy and justice, climate change and energy, toxicity and hazards, and the relations between economy and environment, any of which will complement the work of our Environment, Politics and Society research group. The post is being advertised in conjunction with an additional Lectureship/Associate Professorship in Physical Geography, and we particularly encourage applicants for this EPS position who have an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers in physical geography.
