Position: Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer

Location: Zürich, Switzerland
Duties: Provide the full range of legal services including contract law, corporate law, corporate governance topics, reinsurance law and Swiss and European regulatory law; Draft and negotiate corporate and OTC-derivatives related agreements (i.a. NDA’s, service or outsourcing agreements, ISDA Master Agreements/CSA’s) and provide advice as needed; Monitor and report changes in laws and regulations impacting the business; Assess and manage transactions/activities and advise on legal and compliance risks by providing mitigation solutions; Manage existing and implement new compliance procedures and policies relating to Swiss regulatory and Munich Re Group requirements; Foster a compliance culture in order to prevent illegal, unethical and improper behaviour; Advise and train NewRe’s staff on compliance matters
Requirements: Swiss university degree in law (lic.iur./MLaw), your skills and qualifications will ideally include an admission to the Swiss bar; Relevant experience of at least 3 years as an in-house legal counsel in the financial industry or as a lawyer in a law firm with international orientation (exposure to OTC-derivatives work would be an asset); Strong interpersonal, communication and social skills; Entrepreneurial, proactive, dynamic and flexible personality; Team-oriented and able to work independently; Solution- and result-oriented; Able to build and maintain strong client relationships; Fluent in English and German
