Duties: The Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) unit is a highly successful, award-winning and visionary unit within UCL Medical School (UCLMS). We are seeking a Chair who will be expected to further develop the strategy for PGME, ensuring it becomes a world leader in postgraduate medical education; The post holder will provide strong academic leadership for the taught postgraduate programmes within PGME and will shape an educational strategy for clinicians interested in engaging in teaching and learning. They will engage in empirical activity, maintain scholarly outputs and will contribute to providing evidence of impact and influencing policy as well as contribute to divisional, national and international consultancy related to medical and health professions education
Requirements: The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in medical/health professions education or equivalent. They will need to demonstrate experience in the development, delivery and management of postgraduate teaching in medical and health professions education and will have a strong working knowledge of the current trends and developments in medical and health professions education in the UK and internationally; The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track-record of original research in peer-review journals in the field of medical/healthcare education and will have experience of managing and commissioning research with demonstrable impact. The ability to, and experience in, establishing beneficial working relationships and development opportunities at divisional and Faculty level and across higher education institutes and other education providers is essential
