Position: Research Technician

Duties: The Research Technician will directly participate in the research projects and will be responsible for training and providing technical assistance for students and postdoctoral fellows in the group. The research technicians’ tasks involve mammalian and yeast cell culture, application of various biochemical and molecular biology methods, sample preparation and advanced optical microscopy. In addition, the Research Technician will be in charge of the general organization of the laboratory
Requirements: Applicants should have completed appropriate technical school training or hold a university degree in biological sciences. Candidates with MSc, PhD or equivalent degrees are welcome, as the grade will be commensurate with experience. Experience in biochemistry and molecular biology is essential, and expertise in yeast biology, high-throughput screening and optical microscopy is desired but not strictly necessary. The successful candidate is able to work independently and reliably, is able to acquire new skills efficiently, is very well organized and enjoys working in an international team within a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative atmosphere. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a solid knowledge of English are essential

The Ries group develops novel superresolution microscopy methods and applies them to various biological systems.
