Duties: The work will be carried out at the Centre for Astrophysics and Cosmology. The research group based at the Centre is involved in various fields of modern astrophysics, including high-energy astrophysics, particle astrophysics and multi-messenger astronomy. The successful candidate will carry out research into the astrophysics of gamma rays and dark matter, and take part in a project to prepare for dark-matter searches using the Cherenkov Telescope Array with the use of machine learning. The successful candidate will also assume teaching duties in some of the university’s study programmes
Requirements: To be considered for the position, candidates should: have a doctorate in physics, astrophysics or data science; have a good command of the English language

We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing a rewarding research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica. We offer a dynamic research environment with a focus on involvement in the international academic sphere. The work will be carried out at the Centre for Astrophysics and Cosmology . Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in the fields of dark matter or machine learning. The successful candidate would be expected to start work on 1 October 2019. Employment is offered for full-time working hours over a fixed term of one year, with the possibility of extension.
