Position: Controller

Duties: Verification, monitoring and analysis of financial data for life; Technical support for the whole Controlling department; Quarterly forecasts and follow-up on new business with focus on life; Preparation of reporting packages, both internal and for the Group parent company; Financial-management tasks allocated to the Controlling department; In-depth analysis of selected topics; Project work; Competent sparring-partner for the business owners
Requirements: Degree in economics, business or science, or equivalent education with a quantitative focus; Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a life Controlling or life (Re)insurance quantitative function; Advanced understanding of the economics of a (re)insurance company especially for life; SAP, BI, advanced Excel and data-warehouse experience; Good analytical skills from big-picture to detail, and a flair for numbers; Self-starter, ability to work independently and take responsibility; Responsive to client needs; Basic knowledge in Local GAAP and IFRS an advantage; Good communication skills, team-oriented, flexible and reliable; Excellent English language skills, German an advantage
   
Text: Controller In this role you will be responsible for performance measurement of the life reinsurance business at NewRe. Responsibilities include preparing a quarterly forecast of the performance figures, analysis of key plan deviations and quarterly reporting to local management and to the Group head office. You will ensure that the business owners have a clear view of the results and profitability drivers of their business. In addition, you will follow the life deal pipeline and understand and evaluate potential implications on NewRe P/L and Balance Sheet.
