They will also act as deputy to the Head of Department in relation to the running of the service, in their absence; Main duties will include leading and managing the day-to-day running of the laboratory and all aspects of the diagnostic service, overseeing all diagnostic work, playing an active role in quality assurance and maintaining the standard of immunocytochemistry
Requirements: Candidates must hold state registration certificate with the Health Care Professions Council; Higher Specialist, Fellow of the Institute or equivalent; be committed to his/her own continuing professional development and to promoting this in other staff; demonstrate skills and achievements relating to the relevant discipline, particularly Immunocytochemistry

The Ophthalmic Pathology Service is part of a national network, the National Specialist Ophthalmic Pathology Service (NSOPS). The laboratory holds UKAS for accreditation against ISO15189. The post holder will report to the Head of Department (Professor Phil Luthert) and be accountable to the Head of Life Sciences at Moorfields. They will also act as deputy to the Head of Department in relation to the running of the service, in their absence. Main duties will include leading and managing the day-to-day running of the laboratory and all aspects of the diagnostic service, overseeing all diagnostic work, playing an active role in quality assurance and maintaining the standard of immunocytochemistry.
