Requirements: This post will require a Medical Degree, Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent. GMC registration and entry on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register as well as National Training Number (NTN) or equivalent is essential. The post holder must have completed core medial training or equivalent. In addition, good understanding of research methodology is essential

This post would be particularly suitable for a trainee who intends to pursue an academic rheumatology career with an interest in translational research. The Arthritis Research UK Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology at University College London (UCL), University College London Hospital (UCLH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), the Centre, is a unique initiative established in October 2012 through partnership funding from Arthritis Research UK, Great Ormond Street Childrens Charity, two departments of UCL (UCL Division of Medicine and UCL GOS Institute of Child Health), two NIHR-funded Biomedical Research Centres (UCLH and GOSH BRCs) and two NHS hospital Trusts. http://www.centre-for-adolescent-rheumatology.org/ http://www.ucl.ac.uk/adolescent-arthritis The post holder will develop and initiate research projects (with the guidance of other faculty) - clinical and translational as well as play an active role in the clinical Adolescent Rheumatology service within the Department of Rheumatology at UCLH and UCLH Clinical Research Facility (for clinical trial patients, if appropriate).
