Position: Group Management (f/m/d) - Data Integration and Processing

Duties: In coordination with the directors and professors in the energy division you will be responsible for strategic development of the group’s R&D-activities, employee management, the group’s external representation, acquisition of research projects and of direct commissioning from industry, contributions of own R&D content and publications as well as operative execution of R&D-projects, in particular project- and personnel management
Requirements: You have already gained first leadership skills. You have knowledge in Big Data and/or Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. You share our passion for application-oriented research. You hold a scientific degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field, doctorate preferred. Due to several years of practical experience, working in an application-oriented research environment is familiar to you. You should have a very good command of the English language, orally and in writing. Knowledge of German at C1-Level is mandatory
   
Text: OFFIS is a 1991-founded, internationally active Research and Development Institute for information technology based in Oldenburg, Lower-Saxony. In an average of 70 ongoing projects OFFIS, with its 290 employees, carries out research and prototypical development work on the highest international level in the areas of energy, health, manufacturing and transportation. OFFIS cooperates with more than 700 business and scientific partners worldwide.Contract duration: 2 years (option of permanent employment) Start: November 2019 R&D-Division: Energy Group: Data Integration and Processing EMPHASIS OF THE RESEARCH GROUP: The central research question of this group is: How can technologies and tools from the field of Big Data be transferred to the energy domain, tested, optimized and profitably established here? The group considers technologies in the entire chain from IoT-data acquisition, processing and analysis to archiving and visualization. The application audience includes all participants in the energy sector, from individual consumers, grid operators and power suppliers to decentralized producers.
